FROM THE DESK OF......Mike Spradlin November 11, 2007
I was very proud of our effort vs. Midland Lee last Friday night. Our defense was outstanding
in the second half in holding them scoreless. Offensively, we were on all night long racking up
over 500 yards of offense, with a 300 yard passer, a 165 yard rusher, and a 100 yard receiver.
I felt like our guys really laid it on the line.
Our players have earned the right to represent district 3-5A in this year's UIL playoffs.
We earned the right to return to the playoffs this year throughout the district race but a key
occurred two weeks ago by holding Midland High to a field goal and then taking the ball down
the field and scoring a touchdown. That was critical to giving us the opportunity to advance.
This is the first time in 4 years that Cooper will represent, and the first time in the
careers of our players. We are really excited to get into our “second season” and we intend to
make the most of it. We will be facing a very good Mansfield Timberview team this Saturday at the
Justin Northwest stadium at 2:00 pm (see www.cooperbooster.com for directions.) Timberview is
extremely talented and athletic. They beat an 8-1 Mansfield High team last Friday night.
Our players of the week were:
Offensive Line: Alex Bonilla
Defensive Line: Blake Spears
Offensive Backs: Amon Pimpton and Will Casey
Receivers: Ricky Stevenson
Defensive Back: Demetric Lee
Linebacker: Ryan Taylor
Special Teams: Tommy Bowman
We really want and need to see all of our fans in Justin next Saturday!! Come and
back the Coogs in the manner they deserve!!
